Dear Rev. Huckabee.
Never open your sanctimonious mouth ever again. Go find a nice place away from the modern media and hide in it. I do not want to hear your voice ever again.
I'm not saying this just because you're a total douchebag who wants to bring Church and State closer together into a pseudo-theocracy. I'm not saying this just because you're a Christian Pastor who is the governor of Arkansas. I'm saying this because you and Reality have never met.
Let us use for example two quotes from you that are less than fourty eight hours old that have recently hit the blogosphere. First, your discussion on the View. Now, Mike, I realize that you are not a fan of gay people, but go with me here. When you're asked to compare two minority groups, you should always listen to Admiral Ackbar, "It's a Trap". Your lovely quote however is,
HUCKABEE: It’s a different set of rights. People who are homosexuals should have every right in terms of their civil rights, to be employed, to do anything they want. But that’s not really the issue. I know you talked about it and I think you got into it a little bit early on. But when we’re talking about a redefinition of an institution, that’s different than individual civil rights.
BEHAR: Well, segregation was an institution, too, in a way. It was right there on the books.
HUCKABEE: But here is the difference. Bull Connor was hosing people down in the streets of Alabama. John Lewis got his skull cracked on the Selma bridge.
According to your logic, all we queers need do to get our rights is suffer a bit more. Tell you what, Mike. You go get a few people together to hose down the Castro while beating up people on Capitol Hill. Speaking as the voice of the queer community, you figure out that Queer Beat Off as it were, and then Monday morning you have Congress et. al. pass sweeping legislation to protect us.
And just so we're clear, fuckwit, EDNA did not pass. By your logic we should not be discriminated against as far as employment and housing go, but yet that is not a law of this country. Much less your home state which decided on November 4 to codify that children should grow up childless versus have two mommies or two daddies.
Now, I know I'm going all ontological on you, so let us return to a more simplier case of reality checking. On the Bill Bennet show you said,
HUCKABEE: The very people who voted for Barack Obama in California…also voted to sustain traditional marriage. I refuse to use the term, “ban same-sex marriage.” That’s not what those efforts did. They affirmed what is. They did not prohibit something. They simply affirmed something that which has and forever has existed.
Allow me to direct you to this picture showing the initial title and introductory text of the Proposition.
In short, please disappear from the limelight now for the good of humanity.
